The 1939 Book Week gift was published in an edition of 36,000 copies in two variants. One with a red dust jacket and one with a blue dust jacket. Presumably more red copies than blue copies were printed.

The red edition is found more often than the blue. And if a blue copy is found, it is often damaged, unlike its red counterpart.

The same for this copy. The dust jacket is glued to the book cover with invisible tape. The torn-off back cover, with a piece of the spine, is loose.

Overall, this copy is still acceptable - albeit somewhat frayed and damaged - all the more so since the bookblock itself is intact and not skewed. Sought-after book.
