Maurice Rosy, born on November 17th, 1927 in Fontaine-l’Evêque and died on February 23rd, 2013 in Paris, was a Belgian cartoonist and author of comics in French. He began his comic books career in 1953, and two years later, he became artistic director for Dupuis, publisher of ‘Spirou’ and ‘Le Moustique’, among other publications.
In 1954, he wrote the text for a Jerry Spring adventure for Jijé, ‘Le Splendide Cavalier’ a.k.a ‘Yucca Ranch’. He wrote several storylines for Franquin, especially for the adventures of Spirou and Fantasio, with ‘Le Dictateur et le Champignon’ in 1953 and ‘Les Pirates du silence’ in 1955.
