Condition: good copies, slight water damage on the top right. Therefore volume 6 may have small scuffs in the corners. Edges of the cover slightly damaged in some places. Volume is in 5 Dutch, others in English (identical, but stapled). Design, typography and photography can be called brilliant and groundbreaking. Contains fashion drawings by Constance Wibaut. Very rare.
¶ Graphic designer Otto Treumann (1919-2001) played an important role in Dutch post-war design.
He was educated at the Nieuwe Kunst School in Amsterdam, which adhered to the Bauhaus principles.
His posters for the trade fairs in Utrecht and Rotterdam were well known. For his work for the Nederlandse Kunstzijde Fabrieken he was awarded, in 1948, the H.N. Werkman Prize.
Otto Treumann was a functional designer. He often worked for cultural clients such as the PTT, the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and the Dutch National Ballet.
Treumann designed logos for the Anne Frank House, the Nederlandse Gasunie, the publisher Wolters Kluwer and many other companies and institutions.
