Flaked offeraxe, with red brown/rosa patina, and white sea-patina other side, with dust of blue-white! sea patina. Simply a Beauty.
Measure 27½ cm. A huge impressive axe. Please use both hands!
Would be worth for even the best collection.
About this patina:
The flint is grey inside, and was gray when it was made 5600 years ago.
Many years in the soil with Sulfur and Tannins in acid moor soil, turned the surface beige/brown.
When the environment got flushed by seawater (near the cost-line)
the white slight blue surface occur. and the brown turned little red, almost pink!
One side was covered/protected with clay. the unprotected surface became more and more white after many hundred years by the seawater, but still glossy.
. -Not even Picasso could do that better.
Look pictures both with blitz and in Sunlight.
Very low reserve
Divestment from my very large private collection.
I have acquired this object legally during more than 50 years of collection.
Bought legally from old Danish collections or during public auctions.
As usual with these old collector items, the xact place of finding is lost in time.
