Her we have the triumphant Kilkerran 15yo 2004 Bourbon Wood Single cask.
This Kilkerran single malt was distilled over at Glengyle back in May 2004, and after 10 years of maturation it was moved over into a single refill bourbon hogshead for another five years. It was bottled in September 2019 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the opening of the Glengyle Distillery. Only 324 bottles were released at 53.1% ABV.
How it shapes up
Nose: Dried apricot and berry jam, with almond ice cream and slightly toasted crepe brûlée brown sugar, followed by floral oak and a touch of peat.
Palate: proper old skool orange marmalade avec le peel, a whisper of smoke, banoffee pie and chocolate-covered honeycomb, and caramel digestive biscuits.
Finish: Smooth, aromatic peat smoke alongside salted caramel and crème pâtissière.
Overall: Simply sensational!!
As always my friends please examine the images of the bottle, labels and packaging and satisfy yourself as to their fabulous condition before making a bid. If you are purchasing from the USA please ensure that you state will allow the delivery of alcohol.
