Set of two beautiful polychrome original compositions, fully-painted artworks on thick cardstock, superb quality, presented by ‘Piroton’ on a 35 cm x17 cm backing, with 13 x 14 cm illustrations, unsigned, but from the same origin.
For the record, Piroton is a Dupuis author who particularly designed the following albums: ‘Michel et Thierry’, the ‘Jess Long’ series and many plates of ‘Histoires de l’Oncle Paul’, which explains the high quality of this superb polychrome illustration, a real ‘painting’ representing a storm in the snow.
Beautiful colouring in a style typical of Spirou in the 1960s. Illustration probably published in the pages of the ‘Journal de Spirou’ magazine.
Piroton demonstrates in these artworks that he is a very talented illustrator, who perfectly masters the direct colour and volume techniques as well as relief effects in these cover style illustrations.
Ideal piece, it will enhance any beautiful collection, and a lovely decorative addition to any modern home interior.
A similar lot was sold for €300 in a Catawiki sale last month, and his signed illustration is only presented to illustrate and confirm of Piroton's hand.
A perfect present to offer or to receive.
