Description
Jean Gerbino - Vallauris, Gerbino - Vase (3) - Ceramic
France - 1920-1949

A collection of 3 vases by Jean Gerbino.

Renowned for his signature 'mosaic' or nériage ceramics, Jean Gerbino was a Sicilian born potter who trained in France in the Vaullauris appellation. The technique of producing these 'mosaic' ceramics took him some fifteen years to perfect and for this he was awarded the Grand Prize in Paris in 1931.

As visible in the photos, two vases (green and orange underside) have a minimal chip on the bottom, where they are signed and not glazed.
