Auguste Péquégnot - sepia engraving in antique frame

Description
Auguste Péquégnot - sepia engraving in antique frame
France

Beautiful cheerful engraving of a couple in love watched by two cupids in the trees.
Cheerful and romantic scene made by Auguste Péquégnot after a work by François Boucher.

Nicely printed in beautiful red-brown sepia colour, typical of Péquégnot's work who made many works after Boucher such as an engraving in this colour.
Used copper plates with a soft varnish to make the illusion of a real drawing mostly in red-brown sepia.

Engraving is placed in a beautiful matching heavy antique wooden frame with copper ornaments which emphasize the romantic image. A magnificent object.
