Mishi Janiform Figurine - Bembe - DRC Congo
Provenance: private collection, Belgium.
Dimensions: 40 x 15 cm.
Material: wood.

Bembe Mishi figurine with two highly stylised faces, carved identically. The latter present a face, structured in oblique surfaces because of the median nose bridge which extends from the summit of the forehead until the extremity of the nose, animated by tubular eyes projected in high-relief. The faces are separated by two concave faces, inlaid with red and white pigments.
Trunk alike base.
