Isfahan firmato scuola Davar - Rug - 260 cm - 155 cm

Isfahan firmato scuola Davar - Rug - 260 cm - 155 cm
kurk wool silk texture - Iran - Second half 20th century

These carpets are manufactured exclusively in big cities, in schools, workshops and laboratories and are knotted by experts. They are usually made of silk or wool-silk mix, on stable aluminium looms that can be very large to manufacture giant sizes, suitable for palaces, council rooms, embassies, villas, ceremonial rooms and mansions.

Always very high density knotting, with very close shaving of the compact pile and remarkable definition of the pattern. The most famous examples of these techniques are Persian carpets.
