Very rare PLAROLA (metallic mouth organ) with 3 rolls--1940--(USA)

Very interesting and unusual antique musical instrument which sounds like an organ, made of metal in the USA in 1940 by MFG PlaRola Corp. Of America.

Inscription on the front: PlaRola ORGAN-If you can breathe, you can PlaRola

Includes 3 music rolls (1 is already in place inside the instrument)

FUNCTIONING: To listen to music, the instrument has a simple mechanism - after inserting a roll of pierced paper inside, blow in the mouthpiece which is on the back part and simultaneously turn one of the two handles. There is one for playing music and another for rewinding the roll.

The principle is that the air comes out through the holes in the paper which allows the air to escape and in this way produce the sound.

MEASUREMENTS: 17cm long x 6cm wide x 10cm high.

Its original case is in good condition but a bit damaged.
