provenance: Donald Taitt, an abstract painter from Paris born in 1930 who collected African Art.
Only a handful Boa figure are known, coming from the lower Uele area near Kinshasa in Congo. The most famous Boa object is a Pongdudu mask in the AfricaMuseum in Tervueren, otherwise only a few figures , spoons and weapons are known.
