Story by Hans Christian Andersen (April 2, 1805 – August 4, 1875) The Red Shoes (also called The Dancing Shoes) is a fairy tale about an poor girl who is taken care of by a wealthy old lady, but due to disobedience as a punishment must continue to dance on red shoes. It was written in 1845 by Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen and published in his seventh collection, with the title "De røde sko".
