Lugduni (Lyon) apud Antonium Gryphium (Sébastien Gryphe), 1585
1 volume, sextodecimo, bound, 632-[38] p..

Reprint of previous editions of Suetonius’ text, with a preface by Erasmus from 1517 and his "Annotata", the preface by Ludovic Vivès, dated 1521, and his "Addita Suetonio in vita Caesaris".

Period binding with smooth spine and handwritten title, missing the headcap, solid. Many pages have insect damage. As a whole it is rather average, but nevertheless and interesting printing by Gryphe.

This text is by Erasmus (scientific editor).

16th century editions of the great classical texts are becoming increasingly rare.
