Wonderful Art Deco earthenware vase by A. (Antoine) Dubois in Mons (Bergen), Belgium. Rare.

Decagonal blue vase with clear Japanese influences. The Japanese cranes and cherry blossom are applied in embossment.

Clearly signed ‘ A. Dubois’.
Made by Céramique Montoise in Bergen.

In excellent condition.

Diameter: 18 cm.
Weight: 948 grams.

The company La Céramique Montoise was founded in Mons (Bergen) in 1920 by, amongst others, Antoine Dubois. The company operated until 1949 and was later continued by René Dubois, son of Antoine.
It mainly manufactured Art Deco ceramics. Some pieces are more than Art Deco and are semi-modernist.
