A wonderfully sculpted and carved European ivory sculpture, depicting the figure of Moses with book, the bottom of the body has two doors with two friars depicted on the two sides inside, and a nativity scene in the centre.
Mounted on a circular wooden base.
It is a rare object, suitable for top collectors of European sculpture, sacred art and antique ivory pieces.
based on the style, patina of material and technique, I would say it’s from the 19th century, made in Northern Europe (probably Germany).
