Willem Adriaan Paerels (Delft 1878 - Eigenbrakel 1962) was a Dutch/Belgian artist.
He painted in impressionist, fauvist and expressionist style.
In 1894, he moved to Brussels and decided to be a painter.
During the First World War, Paerels returned to the Netherlands and worked predominantly in Scheveningen.
In 1919, he settled in Belgium again. In the 1920s and 1930s, he made various trips to Greece, Italy and southern France.
His work is considered to belong to Expressionism.
Paerels was best known for his harbour views, but also did landscapes, cityscapes, portraits and still life.
