Who is Kristof Spaey:
Kristof is a Flemish comic artist. He made his debut in 2004, at the age of 21, with the wordless Hoop (publishing house BeeDee). Two years later, Façade appeared (publishing house Oogachtend), two short stories. He also made a few guest covers for Stan Sakai’s Usagi Yojimbo (publishing house Enigma)
and Mark Waid and Minck Oosterveer’s The Unknown (Boom! Studios). Together with Marc Legendre, he is working on the trilogy Misschien Nooit Ooit. A psychological thriller in which every album is told from the perspective of one of the main characters. Since 2012 Kristof has another hobby project: Fake Vintage Book Covers.
Nearly tirelessly, he makes cover after cover of these tantalizing tributes to American pulp paperbacks from the 1920s to 1960s. At this moment, he has made over
450 covers, and the ends is not yet in sight.
