Signed at the bottom “G. Sommer Napoli”.

Giorgio Sommer (Frankfurt 1834 - Naples 1914)

He was an Italian-German photographer. He first worked in Switzerland. In 1856 he moved his business to Naples.
He became a very famous photographer shooting scenes of Naples life during the second half of the 21st century.
He participated in many exhibitions, winning several awards (London 1862, Paris 1867,
Vienna 1873, Nuremberg 1885).

He also owned a foundry where he made duplicates of ancient bronzes from Pompeii.
