Charles Ruchot (act. ca. 1880-1925) - Sculpture, The Smith - 71 cm (1) - Art Nouveau - calamine - Late 19th century
France

A beautiful calamine statue by the famous sculptor Charles Ruchot, active from 1880 to 1925. Signed by the author (see photos detail).
This version of "The Forger" is perhaps the largest (71 x 40 x 33 cm) and the most beautiful sculpture of his series of trades, made in shiny calamine (more scarce and difficult to find than those of bronze), it features an incredible quality of details.
Magnificent state of conservation for a great opportunity to get hold of a piece of history of a 19th century French sculpture.
Height with stand: 77 cm
