Offered: extremely rare ORIGINAL (so the first type) PREMO camera manufactured by Rochester Co between 1893 and 1895. The camera is in excellent condition and can be described as museum quality. Of course there are traces of use visible but in this condition you may never see a second camera offered.
The camera dates from the period from 1893 to 1895 and has a height-adjustable lens section. Camera features a STAR shutter, yet without the possibility of pneumatic control. I have never before found this type of STAR shutter on a Premo camera. Shutter has 6 shutter speeds. I have not been able to figure out which speeds these should be and it is not indicated either. Certainly B and maybe 1/10 to 1/100. Aperture is adjustable to 4 positions by means of a large rotatable disc behind the shutter. Lens: Bausch Lomb lens, maybe around 135 mm, but no certainty about this because this is not indicated either. Viewfinder is attached to the bed.
Furthermore, the camera has a magazine for three film holders (which are included). These film holders are also in very good condition (one is slightly damaged).
This camera should not be confused with the Pony Premo camera.
The offered camera is fully functional and is in super condition that can even be described as museum quality. Reserve price is in accordance with the condition and rarity of the camera.
