August Allebé (Amsterdam, 19th April 1838 - Amsterdam, 10th January 1927) was a Dutch painter and lithographer.

He studied at the Rijksacademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam. From its establishing in 1880, he worked as a professor and was its director from 1890 to 1906. His oeuvre includes portraits, still lifes and landscapes. Like many other painters at the time, he worked for a while in the countryside, in his case in Dongen, in the sixties of the nineteenth century. His early works were romantic in style, but later evolved to a more realistic style. His work is good quality, but little is known. He is better known for his positions at the Rijksacademie.

Works by August Allebé can be found in, among other places, the Rijksmuseum, the Stedelijk Museum, the Amsterdam Museum and the Teylers Museum.
