African primitive currency, tribal art, copper piece in 8-form, Congo - Copper - Mitako (bent into shape of double hook) - Mongo people - DRC, Equateur/Bandundu, Lokoro and Lukenie rivers
1st half 20th century - Good condition, used with some signs of wear

Rather rare authentic piece of tribal money, as already used long time before the colonial period in the central part of the Congo river basin. Used as means of exchange for trade in goods or for clanic transactions. Bought by a middleman in Inongo, in 1995.
Part of a private family collection (3 generations) of African artefacts gathered during more then 60 years.
