State II on IIII while the first state before the text is almost impossible to find and labelled 'very very very by Lieure.(R.R.R.)
With full plate border and half cm margin on a nice watermarked laid paper from the period. In the left margin a closed tear with a larger strip of paper on the backside.

Jacques Callot ( 1592 - 1635)
Etcher and draughtsman, born Nancy. Working in Rome and Florence for the Medic; 1621 returned to Nancy, where he settled and married. Died suddenly in 1635. From c. 1620 most of his plates were published by his friend Israel Henriet.
