Jancis Robinson 17.5/20: "Mid ruby. Very open indeed on the nose with a certain sweet strawberry character. Again this wine is fine-boned and has lots of acidity. Dry finish. Neat and very well balanced. Just a little austere but certainly refined. Mid length".
96/100 Cellartracker: "The wine has been suspended in time thanks as a result of its acidity and its tannins sculpted in silk. The whole is fresh and fluid, spicy, full of something similar to reduced fruit that fills the mouth. In every sip there's more elegance, admiration. An old gran reserva that will keep on going".
94/100 Cellartracker: "Nose of sweet beet, cherry, raspberry, earth, mushroom, red flowers, minerals and nutmeg....blind, I would guess this as a red burgundy... fruit is really lively. The palate shows pure sweet red fruit....beet, cherry, strawberry, cherry, spice, earth, violets, sandalwood, soy and minerals....very pretty. The finish is long and complex....just a notch behind the 1954 CVNE Gran Reserva served alongside".
