John van 't Slot - Schetsboek 1979-1986 - 1987
Art - Quantity: 1 - Hand coloured illustrations, Limited edition, Numbered edition, Signed - Book

John van 't Slot (1949) studied at the Academy of Visual Arts in Rotterdam from 1965 to 1970 and won the Koninklijke Subsidie voor de Vrije Schilderkunst in 1977. In the 1980s he belonged to the New Wilds (neo-expressionism), with René Daniëls, among others. John van 't Slot's sometimes cartoonish and often humorous paintings stood out from the late 1970s when new attention was paid to figurative painting. Since then he has had many exhibitions at home and abroad, including at the Venice Biennale in 1984.

His beautiful Schetsboek 1979-1986 was commissioned by publishing house Bébert Rotterdam. All copies have a cover made by the artist, with an extra signature on the inside. In addition, something was added by hand to some drawings. Edition of 40 copies, this is number 15; this artist's book is also signed. The cover is still wrapped in cellophane, which lacks a small small piece at the bottom right and has two folds at the back (see photos). Otherwise in good condition.
