Precious silk bedspread, finished on three sides with a wide fringe. Purple red colour. The fabric is well preserved, without tears, with very few signs of ageing. Coming from inheritance. Probably made between the late 1800s and early 1900s.
In 1800, San Leucio was a city known worldwide as one of the most illustrious textile schools. The silk fabrics produced in San Leucio were exported all over the world and have been used to furnish the Vatican, the White House and Buckingham Palace.
Some pictures do not show the true colour of the bedspread due to the reflection of the light on the shiny silk.
Dimensions: 225 x 260 cm, with fringe sewn on 3 sides.
