2 Tins of botanising boxes, probably from Germany, dating early 20th century or late 19th century.
These boxes were mainly used by children to gather plants and flowers and take them to school or home to study or dry. These tins are clearly used intensively, here and there a small dent. The image is clearly visible, but the original lacquer is faded/worn. Nevertheless, this is a very charming and decorative object.
The smallest drum shows a decoration with a bird on a branch of flowers. In the background, a German village is visible. The colour scheme is predominantly green.
The dimensions of this drum are 9.2 x 6.3 x 22.5 cm.
The largest drum contains an image in relief with an oak branch and a large tor (flying deer). The colour scheme is predominantly green with a red back and side. The dimensions of this drum are 37 x 14 x 10.3 cm.
