Excellent condition - barely used with minimal signs of aging & wear

A beautiful silver (fourré) cake server, which is decorated with well-formed Art Deco lines.

The cake server comes with its original box.

The cake server is a design of the French silversmith François Labat. His company was founded in 1879, ended in 1920 and was located in Paris at 43, Rue de Montmorency Paris 75003.

The handle of the cake server is made of silver (fourré), the French Hallmark Minerva (.950/1000) is stamped on the lower part of the handle. The flat part is made of Maillechort. Maillechort is an alloy of copper, nickel, zinc and was invented by Maillot et Chorier. The name of François Labat (LF) is stamped above the "Maillechort", on the flat part of the cake server.

Length: 29 cm Width:7 cm Weight: 116 grams (Box: 32 x 10 x 3 cm).
