Very Beautiful Dogon Granary Door, in good condition, with nice finish.
African Dogon granary door. These doors were used to close above-ground granaries. The door is carved in relief. Faces, similar to Kanaga masks, well-known Dogon figures, are carved in the wood. The lock’s sliding bolt still remains. The Dogon live in the region of the Bandiagara Cliffs, located east of the Niger River, about 150 km from the town of Djenné.
