Beautiful ceramic piece from the early 50s, a subject loved by collectors, a Tyrolean couple, in beautiful colours and wonderful expressions. The man’s hat shows a tiny chip. This subject has been treated and taken up, by almost all great ceramists, always with wonderful results.
Piece by Giovanni Battista Cogo
Giobatta Giovanni Battista Cogo has been active in Vicenza since the 1930s.
After studying at the Royal School of Art Ceramics "Giuseppe De Fabbris" of Nove, and completing his apprenticeship at various local factories, in 1946 he founded the "S.I.C.A. ceramic factory, in partnership with Angelo Perin, Giovanni Grappiglia and Stefano Guzzo.
In 1953 he left the company and opened his own workshop, called "G.B. Cogo Ceramiche d’Arte" active in Nove.
