A beautiful French 1930 art deco chandelier in nickel plated solid brass or bronze holding a bowl by the glass manufactory of Loÿs Lucha. This was the company of Louis Joseph Chaffard-Luçon (1880-1951). Based in Boulogne-sur-Seine near Paris France this company was specialized in enamelled glasses in art deco style. In French art deco lighting we can only find a similar high quality enamelled glass by the Daum related company Leune in Nancy. The shade of this chandelier is done in enamelled glass of which the outer border is acid engraved, an additional technique Loÿs Lucha sometimes used for its enamelled pieces around 1930 onwards.
The octogonal bowl is signed Loÿs Lucha. The pendant has a total drop of about 37 cm and the bowl a diameter of 40 cm. It's in very good condition. I have renickeled and patinated the fixture. It's rewired with a European E27 socket. For the US or Japan I will place an American standard base one.
