Perignem - large fruit bowl - Earthenware

Description
Perignem - large fruit bowl - Earthenware
Belgium - 70s

Very large fruit bowl, signed at the bottom with Perignem.
The bowl is in very good condition, not a single chip missing.
However, the inside is slightly scratched because of normal use.
37 cm in diameter and 9 cm high.

From the studio ‘Perignem’ in Beernem. Early 1970s.
The company Perignem (Latin for ‘through the fire’) was founded by Laurent and Rogier Vandeweghe and was split up ca. 1954. Rogier Vandeweghe started Amphora in Sint-Andries and went his own way. Perignem tried to draw new designers/artists to fill in the artistical void after Rogier left. Johan Nyssen, Octave Landuyt, Hansheinz Goll and Marcel Catry, among others, provided a new artistic interpretation.
