Mblo masks represent a particular individual and were used for entertainment dances. It features one of the most refined aesthetics, the Baule's artistic body has created an important amount of different masks.
The Baule women's mask never appeared alone. It was always accompanied by animal or human masks. They dance after harvests, at the time of the "Feasts of Merit", funerals, to commemorate the ancestors, but more often to honour illustrious visitors.
