Offered is a beautifully detailed painting by the Dutch painter Jan Pieter Veerman, Medemblik 1985 - 1971 The Hague.

Scene of a traditional Dutch winter landscape with ice skaters, two horses pulling a sled, a push sled on the ice, hikers on the shore in the snow, people around the catering tent (koek & zopie).

Having fun on the ice under a cloudy winter sky.

Origin: from the collection of his daughter's estate, lived in Voorburg.

Jan Veerman painted in oil, among other things, cityscapes, portraits and winter landscapes.

He lived and worked in Zandvoort and from 1923 onward in The Hague.

Many of his paintings were sold to clients in America in the 1950s-1960s.

He is mentioned in Lexicons Pieter Scheen 1969-1970 and Scharten 1996.
