Very fine putto candlestick - .800 silver - Belgium - Second half 19th century
Good condition - used with small signs of aging & blemishes - 219 g

An excellent solid silver candlestick carried by a winged cherub, standing circa 20cm tall and weighing 219g, excellently cast and repoussé sculpted, the young angel wearing a headdress of grapes and vines, a vine branch draped across his loins for modesty. The candle cup is decorated in high relief with medallions and winged caryatids. Marked to the base with "800M", a French export mark meaning 800 Millième, also used in Belgium during the 19th century.

Condition: Generally very good, minor wear, bumps and scratches commensurate with age.

This lot will be carefully packaged and sent by registered and insured mail.
