From the series: Zodiac Series, Art by Kagaya
Kagaya is an increasingly well-known Japanese artist in the digital art field.
For his works, he requires significant knowledge in astronomy, space travel and world mythology. Additionally, his pictures are decorated with a unique sense of colour. With his extraordinary style, he received full attention and recognition abroad as well.
He depicted the goddess Hera on the back. According to Greek mythology, she sent a cancer to distract Hercules - whom she hated - while he was fighting with the multi-headed snake Hydra. Unfortunately, Hercules was distracted only until he crushed the cancer with his foot. Hera acknowledged the defeated cancer by elevating it to heaven as a star sign.
A portrait relief of Queen Elizabeth II can be seen on the front of the coin bar, a work of the British sculptor Raphael Maklouf.
