Vintage Soviet Three-bolt Diving Helmet & Suit (2) - Brass, Copper - 1987

This type of standard copper hat diving helmet equipment has been in use since the beginning of the 20th century up to the present day by maritime fleets and navies. It does not isolate the diver from pressure from the external environment (water). It is equipped with intercom. Diving equipment, “three-screws” - equipment for safe water immersion.

This equipment made in the 28th military factory of the USSR. After the collapse of the USSR belongs to Russia and the factory continues to manufacture diving gear.

 1) A copper diving helmet with a screw port (viewing window) is attached to the front jacket with three screws (hence the name). The helmet has an exhaust valve. The thickness of the windows is 12 mm. Weight 20.5 kg

2) Diving shirt (waterproof rubber overalls) with a shirt. VR-3 liners are used for three-bolt rigging VR-3 liners are made of three-layer rubberized material.
 Gas safety valves are located on the jacket. These valves are used to automatically remove excess air from a spacesuit underwater, protecting the shirt from tearing and the diver from accidental ascent and barotrauma from the lungs.
