Beautiful oil painting by Cornelis Vreedenburgh. The painting is in reasonably good condition with some cracks mainly in the air.
The painting has been framed by W. Schippers Lijstenmaker from the Maliestraat in The Hague.
In 1966 the painting was given on loan for an exhibition by Mr D.G. Murman, the former dike grave of Tielerwaard.

Cornelis Vreedenburgh (1880-1946) was largely self-taught. Initially he worked as a house painter and drew and painted in his spare time, until he could focus on painting full-time due to a Royal fund in 1904. He was helped by the advice of W.B. Tholen, who often invited him on his boat on the Kaag and the Loosdrechtse plassen. The meadow and water scenes that Vreedenburgh painted were immediately loved for their strong colours and the striking manner in which he depicted the light and atmosphere of the Dutch landscape.
