Great scraper from the Mali Desert

Dimensions: 9 cm + 7.5 cm

Condition: completely preserved, retouched and sanded

Material: Green Jasper

Very thin, shapely scraper. Retouched and polished on both sides.
100% intact, no restorations or recent fractures.
Shiny patina.


Around 2000 B C, in the south of Mali people mainly lived from agriculture, especially of millet and other grass seeds. Scrapers like these were often used in everyday life, e.g. for processing meat.
