Remarkable artist who may have studied with Rembrandt in the 1640's and because of his influence by Hercules Seghers was called 'Young Hercules'

Anthonie Waterloo (1610-1690) acquired some of his plates and reworked them.

Hollstein 10 (First state Ruischer, Second state Waterloo)
Wessely 19 (as Segers reworked by Waterloo)

The first state was solely by the hand of Ruischer and had a broken borderline
The second state had small reworks by Waterloo and strengthened borderline.
The third state had the number 12 upper right

This is a second state.
Excellent impression with full plate border and tread margins on watermarked laid paper. Tipped with top corners on a collection sheet.
