Rare poster published in limited edition for the ALECHINSKY exhibition organized by the Ales Library Museum from 29/06 to 30/09/1990 at the Musée Benoît d'Ales (Gard, France).
The Pierre-André-Benoit Museum
In 1986, Pierre-André Benoit (PAB) [1921-1993], printer, sculptor, poet, donated his collection of artworks to his hometown, Alès, and his literary collections to the National Library of France (reserve of rare and precious books), providing the library with at least one copy of each book produced by him. These collections are centred around illustrated book, the donor’s primary activity.
Paintings, gouaches, drawings, prints, sculptures by Alechinsky, Jean Arp, Julius Baltazar, Georges Braque, Gianni Bertini, Bryen, Charchoune, Guitet, Jean Hugo, Miro, Picabia, Picasso, Schneider [Which one?], Joseph Sima, Steffens, Survage, Ubac, Vieira da Silva, Simona Ertan..., all works of exceptional quality that reflect the collector’s decisive taste.
Artists' books: nearly 425 books, with texts and illustrations, among others, by Alechinsky, Picasso, Miro, Georges Braque, Picabia, E. Boissonnas, Breton, René Char, Claudel, Dubuffet
