Description
6 x 140 cm Remnant of precious brocade fabric in silk and wool from San Leucio - Baroque - Silk, Wool - 2018
Italy

The brocade is a fabric that tells of richness and luxury, elegance and refinement, becoming manifest of eternal contemporaneousness that encloses all the beauty of distant eras.
The main characteristic of brocade is its embossed design. At first glance brocade and Damask fabrics may look alike, but the difference lies in the B-side of the fabric; In fact, brocade on the reverse has visible design threads that detach from the background. For this reason the reverse, in some places, shows only the background, while the surface creates almost the illusion that the design has been embroidered over the background.
Fine fabric both due to the material, silk and wool, and for the complexity of the workmanship.
This fabric made by San Leucio silk factory is a true handcrafted masterpiece able to transform any environment.

Length: 6 mt x 140 cm
