This book, written in English, by the specialist Marcel van den Broecke, see also Ortelius maps on the internet, describes life in English and Atlas maps of Abraham Ortelius, the first maker of a world atlas (1570).
This atlas was reprinted dozens of times in 8 different languages, and even after Ortelius’ death in 1598, the atlas continued to be reprinted until 1624. The book also provides a description and images of the maps that appeared earlier than Ortelius' atlas.
