Crown of Aragon high-relief, rebirth of Italian influence, early 16th century.
The head is remarkably similar to that of the angel holding the shroud of Christ in the famous piety of the alabaster master, carved around 1523.
Life-size head, 19 cm.
Origin: the surroundings of the Cister, Poblet or Santes Creus, belonging to the Basegoda Nonell collection, a famous architect specialised in the restoration of medieval monuments, works doe in the cathedral of Barcelona, the monasteries of Poblet and Pedralbes, the church of Santa Maria del Mar, etc.
