Excellent condition - barely used with minimal signs of aging & wear - 146 g

Beautiful solid silver storage box. The box has floral patterns all-round and on the lid. Interior of the box is gilded. The box is handmade and has German silver content hallmark 800, crescent with imperial crown and the master stamp of J.D. Schleissner & Sohne. Year letter A or N.

J.D. Schleissner & Sohne, founded in 1817 became especially famous when Johan Daniel Christian Schleissner (1793-1862), Daniel Philipp August Schleissner (1825-1891) was leading the company. This turned out to be a great success and Schleissner had, among others, Baron Karl von Rothschild as a customer. Baron von Rothschild was so impressed by the work of Schleissner that he introduced the term ‘Schleissner Style’. Schleissner is also regarded as the father of the 'Hanau style'.
