16. – 14. Jhd. v. Chr. - northern Levant

Cylinder seal, Central Syrian, hunter and animal, steatite, height = 28.2 mm.
Central Syrian period, 16th - 14th century B C, northern Levant
Two hunters/warriors in knee-length skirt with grid pattern,
Headgear and long pointed beard. The first one holds up the crumb sword and trident,
the other one holds a lance in front of him and a crumb sword behind him downwards.
In front of them, a horned quadruped looking back.
Between its runs a branch, above it a floating bird.
Steatite Ø: 13.2 mm x 28.2 mm
Condition: intact & uncleaned

This object stems from a collection of prof. Dr. K.-J. Müller/Bonn
and has been legally acquired and administered in the 1960s.

It has been verified on 19 June 2015 by the Ministry of Science,
