Ear rings (1) - perspex nails and others - Msingha - zulu - South Africa

Description
Ear rings (1) - perspex nails and others - Msingha - zulu - South Africa
1st half 20th century - Good condition, used with some signs of wear

Originally, these earplugs were made and worn by men who worked in the mines beginning 1900.
Later on, the earplugs were brought back to their residences, and the women continued the tradition of wearing them.

This is an exceptionally beautiful and rare pair, which I acquired in situ in 1975 near the Tugela River area.

A comprehensive and sound documentation with pictures will be given to the purchaser when the pair is sold.
