The Mossi (or Mosse in the plural and Moaga in the singular) are a people from West Africa, established in the centre of Burkina Faso, in the villages with the basins of the Nazinon and Nakambé Rivers.
The Mossi are the major ethnic group of Burkina Faso, forming more than 52% of the population, that is, 10.04 millions of persons. The rest of the population is composed of more than sixty ethnic groups, mainly the Gurunsi, the Senufo, the Lobi, the Bobo and the Fula. The Mossi speak the Mooré. As an ethnic group, they are affiliated to the Gurunsi, the Gourmantché, the Dagara... Their parents of the joking relationship are the Samo for the entire group, and the Gourmantché, the Gurunsi and the Bissa for the Yadcé. We can currently say that the Mossi form an ethnic group, and not only an ethnicity. They did not arrive in Ghana as Mossi, they came to encounter other peoples already settled, and only after conquest, they named the whole the Moogho, which means the universe, and everyone who lives there is called Moosé or later Mossi with the deformation.

Please note: some elements on this page have been translated automatically. The mask smells strongly of fishing bait. it is not possible to hang them up in a closed room. Please note: some elements on this page have been translated automatically.
