Pierre Vandel is a talented French designer. Thanks to his visionary approach, his innovative spirit and his exactness, he created original furniture and met with international recognition.
Vandel created original pieces of furniture with pure lines: his creations quickly seduced lovers of design. The "Vertebre" chair (1972) is an iconic seat from the 20th Century. This piece reflects his talent and his creativity.
Pierre Vandel was born in 1939 in Roubaix in France. He obtained a diploma in industrial design. He joined the design office of Ponts et Chaussées and studied at the CNAM (Arts and Crafts). As a creative designer, he tested several projects such as a vertical aquarium. He designed hi-fi units, side tables, lighting… Vandel was a really passionate designer! In 1969, Vandel worked with the French distributor Marais International for an order of 5000 pieces! He founded his brand Pierre Vandel-Paris. His work appeals to people everywhere: in Paris, in New-York, in London, in Melbourne and Tokyo! He won 2 awards for his export success, delivered by the Ministry of Industry.
